Day After Pakistan’s Prime Minister Praised India’s “Independent Foreign Policy,” the Foreign Secretary Says the Country Has Received Praise From All Quarters

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Monday that India has received widespread praise for many of its foreign policy initiatives, a day after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan praised India for its “independent foreign policy” during the Ukraine crisis.

When asked about Khan’s remarks at a press conference, Shringla said India’s record speaks for itself and that it would be incorrect to say that only one leader has praised New Delhi. “To say that one person is incorrect. At the Prime Minister’s level, I believe we have received widespread acclaim for many of our foreign policy initiatives. “I believe our track record speaks for itself,” said the Foreign Secretary.

Khan praised India’s independent foreign policy at a rally in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, saying New Delhi imported crude oil from Russia despite US sanctions for Moscow’s attack on Ukraine.
