Cruise Drug Party Case: 7 more arrests
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested seven more people in a drug case involving actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. Three people were arrested for bringing intoxicants to a party on a luxury ship and four members of the organizers, Delhi-based Namascre Event Management Company. With this, the number of those arrested has increased to 16.
The arrested Sameer Sehgal, Gopalji Anand, Manav Singhal and Bhaskar Arora were in charge of matters including inviting guests. Apart from them, drug lords Abdul Qadir Sheikh, Manish Rajgaria and Avin Sahu were also arrested in Mumbai. Shreyas Nair, who was arrested on Monday, was remanded in NCB custody till November 11.
The NCB has again issued a summons to the ship’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following the discovery of more drugs on board the party’s Cordilia. The ship owners said they were not involved in the drug deal and that the party was run by a chartered company.
Meanwhile, Mumbai police said the party on the ship was held without permission. The International Cruise Terminal comes under the purview of the Yellow Gate Police Station in South Mumbai. Party ships on the ship require police permission from there. Covid may also file a police case for violation of the rules. Thousands of people flocked to the ship amid the Covid ban in Maharashtra.
