Congress President Rahul Gandhi visits flood-ravaged Kerala

Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who was on a foreign program at the time a severe flood engulfed the South Indian state of Kerala, has reached the state for a two-day visit. As per a report, he would visit several flood-affected regions across the state in his two-day program in the state.

Another report says that he would take part in a function organised to felicitate those daring fisherman who played a vital role in the rescue operations.

While speaking to the media personals, Mr Rahul has said that he would also visit several relief camps.

A congress worker claims that his presence in the state would give strength to the congress workers who are in the field to serve the affected.

Today, the Congress leader is expected to cover the central Kerala region. Tomorrow, he is likely to proceed to the northern region. In the central Kerala region, the focus, most probably, will be Alappuzha and Ernakulam. In the northern region, the focus will be Kozhikodu and Wayand.

As per an official report, the leader of the Grand Old Party would leave the state for Delhi Tomorrow.

Senior Congress leaders Oommen Chandy, M M Hassan and Shashi Tharoor and several other leaders have met the Congress leader when the leader has reached the state capital.
