Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 6 Live Updates: Weightlifter Lovepreet Singh Wins Bronze, Women Face Canada In Hockey

Lovepreet Singh of India won bronze in the men’s 109 kg weightlifting event while also breaking a record in the clean and jerk round.

The Indian women’s hockey team is currently competing against Canada. Lovely Choubey and Nayanmoni Saikia, an Indian women’s pair, won their match in round 2 of lawn bowls by a score of 23-6, while Mridul Borgohain triumphed in his men’s singles match by a score of 21-5. On the other side, judoka Tulika Maan also advanced to the women’s +78kg semifinal.

The women’s four lawn bowls team had a fantastic fifth day of competition on Tuesday, winning the women’s fours event and giving the nation a historic lawn bowls gold. The men’s table tennis team then won a gold medal. The mixed badminton team and Vikas Thakur (96 kg) both won silver in the meantime.

Boxers like Nikhat Zareen and Lovlina Borgohain are scheduled to take centre stage on Wednesday. The Indian women’s cricket team will play late into the night in the meantime. Athletics will take the stage concurrently to end the day on a high for the audience if entertainment is still required after that.
