To kick-start the election campaign in the southern Dravidian state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a giant public-meeting at Coimbatore on today. The regional oriented Dravidian state is going to face a assemble election with in few months. Even though the state has some powerful regional parties, there is an electoral space for a national party in Tamil Nadu. Though the Election Commission is yet to mention the exact date of the election, the regional parties have already started articulating the election plans, says report. It is learned that PM Modi will inaugurate a Medical Collage in Coimbatore during his five hour visit to the city on today. BJP-led government had bravely added the cotton city, Coimbatore, into the PM’s smart city project, most probably, aiming at the electoral gains in the state. Experts claim that the move will help the BJP to achieve a base in the most powerful southern state.

Earlier, the BJP party had organised a rainbow alliance –with DMDK, PMK, Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi, MDMK, IJK, and New Justice Party- in TN for the last Lok Sabha election but it had not delivered the anticipated result. Later, MDMK and PMK had left the alliance immediately after the election. Meanwhile, the immature statements of DMDK had invited rough criticisms and tainted the image of the BJP’s rainbow alliance. Experts say that BJP is currently looking for a proper alley in the state. However, the state BJP officials assert that the party is not in hurry for an alliance in the state. They expressed confidence in the growing strength of the party in the Dravidian land. BJP state president claims that they have currently fifty lakh members in the state so it is difficult for the Tamilians to ignore their existence. Several top BJP leaders had visited the state ahead of the grand program to ensure the success of the rally. Around five lakh people are expected to participate in the rally and public meeting.    Meanwhile, reports say that some student’s organisations will organise a protest in the region over the Dalit student’s death issue. However, a government is planning to install multi-layer security system in the region. It is expected to deploy around six thousand security personals for the purpose.
