Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 title song out: Kartik Aaryan’s dance moves can’t save this forgettable and monotonous remix

Another day, another pointless mashup. Bhool Bhulaiyya 2, a sequel to the popular 2007 film starring Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, and Kiara Advani, has been working overtime to convince us that the magic of the original still exists alongside new fancy elements. The new title song, Bhool Bhulaiyya, a rehash of the delightful original, was released today.

The song has more pauses, fancy beats, and a few lines have been changed—instead of Akshay Kumar dancing, Karti Aaryan is walking through a disco club, and there’s a cat, for some reason.

Priyadarshan directed the 2007 hit, which starred Akshay Kumar as a psychiatrist tasked with determining the cause of supernatural activities in a mansion. The film was a remake of Mohanlal’s 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, which was primarily a horror comedy before morphing into a psychological thriller near the end.

Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 is directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Kartik Aaryan as Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani as ‘Manjulika.’ During a press conference, Kartik was asked if he felt any pressure while playing Akshay Kumar’s role. Kartik, on the other hand, shied away from any comparison. “I didn’t want to make that comparison because those are impossible to fill.”I adored him in Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and I grew up watching his movies. So comparison naa he kare toh better hai (it’s better not to compare). As an actor, I adore him. We’ve tried our hardest here. Of course, the title is the same, but there are elements in the character that evoke nostalgia.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a franchise, not a sequel, according to Kiara. “I’m not playing that character because this is a franchise, not a remake” (essayed by Vidya Balan in the original). Yes, there is a Manjulika, but I can’t give too much away about the plot. “I believe they were the inspiration, and we’ve tried our hardest to do justice to the characters that Sir (Anees) has created for us,” she continued. On May 20, Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 will be released.
