Bangladesh PM to meet Indian PM soon
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tomorrow.
As per a media report, the prime focus of the discussion will be economy. The report says that the Bangladesh PM may sign several agreements in connection with economy with the Indian PM.
At this moment, it remains unclear whether the matter of National Register of Citizens will be discussed in the meeting or not.
A political observer opines that there is a chance for the matter to find place in the discussion between the top leaders of the two South Asian countries.
Several lakhs of people were omitted from the final list of the NRC, making them vulnerable to further legal action for infiltration.
India believes most of those failed to find a place in the NRC final list are the migrants who illegally infiltrated into India from Bangladesh.
In a normal situation, if an infiltrator is found, he will be send back to his country of origin. It is unknown at this moment whether the same action will be taken against those who failed to find place in the final list of the NRC. The big question then is: is Bangladesh capable to take such a large number of people back at this moment.
