Athar Khan, Tina Dabi’s Ex Husband, Gets Engaged, Shares Photo
Athar Aamir Khan, a member of the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and the former spouse of Tina Dabi, is currently engaged to Dr. Mehreen Qazi. This happened a few months after Ms. Dabi wed Dr. Pradeep Gawande, an IAS officer, in a private ceremony in Jaipur. On Sunday, Mr. Khan posted a photo of himself and Dr. Qazi to Instagram, where he announced his engagement. She also uploaded a picture of herself getting engaged to Mr. Khan.
In Srinagar, where Mr. Khan is employed as the municipal commissioner, Dr. Qazi resides. Dr. Qazi earned his MD in medicine while attending Delhi’s Ambedkar University before continuing his education in the UK.
A Jaipur family court accepted Ms Dabi and Mr. Khan’s request for a divorce in August of last year. In 2015, Tina Dabi won the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil service examination; Athar Khan came in second. Their relationship and marriage were like something out of a movie.
In April 2018, they were united in marriage in Delhi. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Union Ministers, and then-Lower House Speaker Sumitra Mahajan attended their wedding reception in Delhi.
Ms. Dabi and Mr. Khan are both Rajasthan cadre officers who were initially assigned to Jaipur. Mr. Khan is currently on deputation with the government of Jammu and Kashmir.
Tina Dabi, a Lady Shri Ram College alumna who lives in Delhi, catapulted to prominence after becoming the first Dalit woman to win the coveted civil services test, and that too on her first attempt.
During their training, she got to know Mr. Khan, who is from Kashmir’s Anantnag.
