Another self-styled godman booked on rape charge

Few days after the conviction of infamous godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, another self-styled godman, Kaushalendra Prapannacharya Falahari Maharaj, has been booked in connection with a rape case.

The 21-year-old victim, who is a law intern, has claimed that she got the courage to file the complaint after the Dera Sacha Saudha chief’s conviction.

In her statement, she stated that she was sexually assaulted by the godman when she visited the ashram on last month.

As per the report, the victim’s family members are loyal followers of the godman, who is popularly known as ‘Baba’.

According to the report, when the victim has been taken to the ashram by the investigative officials for an identification parade, she has identified the room in the ashram where the cruel act took place and the disciple of tainted godman who dropped her in the nearby railway station.

The culprit has been remanded in the judicial custody for nearly fifteen days when he has been produced in the court by the police authorities.

Experts say that the authorities must take things seriously. The repetition of such unfortunate events is totally unacceptable, they add. They further add that it proves the authorities are insensitive to such incidents.
