Akshay Kumar announced new release date for his ‘grand saga,’ Prithviraj Chakraborty

Prithviraj is a historical drama based on Prithviraj Chauhan’s life. Chandraprakash Dwivedi wrote and directed the film, which also marks Manushi Chillar’s Bollywood debut.

Akshay Kumar announced on Wednesday that his film Prithviraj will be released in theatres on June 3 of this year. “Elated to announce that Samrat #Prithviraj Chauhan’s grand saga is arriving sooner on the big screen on 3rd June in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu,” Akshay wrote alongside a new poster. Previously, the film was set to be released on January 21.

Prithviraj is a historical drama based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, a warrior king. Chandraprakash Dwivedi wrote and directed the film, which also marks Manushi Chillar’s Bollywood debut.

Prithviraj honours “the bravery of India’s bravest Samrat.” The film’s teaser, released last year, introduced Akshay Kumar’s character Prithviraj Chauhan and provided a glimpse of the epic war Prithviraj fought against the invader Muhammad of Ghori. Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood also play important roles in the film.

Akshay had previously described the historical drama as a tribute to Prithviraj Chauhan’s heroism and life. “The more I read about him, the more I was awed by how he lived and breathed every single second of his glorious life for his country and his values,” the superstar said.On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is working on a number of projects. He will appear in Bachchan Paandey, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, OMG 2, and Bade Miyaan Chote Miyaan, among other films.
