AI Agents Set to Transform Enterprise Tech
Salesforce is shifting its focus from chatbots to advanced AI agents, which are expected to redefine enterprise technology in the coming decade. According to Deepak Pargaonkar, these systems can autonomously perform complex tasks, moving beyond simple assistance to actively executing business workflows.
The company describes this evolution as “Enterprise General Intelligence” (EGI), where AI operates across entire organisations using real-time data and structured processes. CEO Marc Benioff highlighted how AI-driven tools are already improving productivity and reducing hiring needs, signaling a major shift in how companies operate.
While adoption is accelerating—especially in sectors like finance, healthcare, and manufacturing—challenges remain around data readiness and customisation. Experts stress that the success of AI agents depends heavily on high-quality, unified data, with companies needing to reskill employees to work alongside these systems.
