Adani Airports to Invest $2.1 Billion in Airport City Developments Across India
India’s Adani Airports, a unit of the Adani Group, has announced plans to invest over $2.1 billion (200 billion rupees) to develop airport-linked commercial districts across six major locations in India. The project will span airports in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Guwahati, covering a total area of more than 655 acres.
Nearly 70% of the investment will be focused on Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, reflecting their importance as India’s key financial and commercial hubs. The planned airport cities will integrate hotels, retail spaces, office complexes, and entertainment facilities, designed to function as fully connected urban ecosystems around airport infrastructure.
The initiative is inspired by global airport-city models in cities such as Singapore, Dubai, Amsterdam, and Seoul. Adani Airports has already partnered with IHG Hotels & Resorts for five hotels and is in discussions with other partners in food, beverage, and entertainment sectors to support the development.
