But there are still such groups of people who are away from these technologies and that too in America. Yeah u heard it right in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, The Amish Village offers an authentic look at Amish lifestyle without any modern technologies.

Before getting into Amish village it is necessary to know what is Amish.

Amish, also called Amish Mennonite, member of a Christian group in North America, primarily the Old Order Amish Mennonite Church. The church originated in the late 17th century among followers of Jakob Ammann.

The Amish are known for simple living, plain dress, christian pacifism, and are slower to adopt many convinience of modern technology, as they think that it can interrupt family time, or can replace face-to-face conversations.

The Amish do not consider technology evil in itself, but believe that it has the potential to bring about assimilation into the surrounding society. … In addition, most Amish are not permitted to drive motor vehicles but are allowed to hire outsiders to drive them.

The Amish people believes that photographs in which they can be recognized violate the Biblical commandment, “Thou shalt not make unto thyself a graven image.” They want to be remembered by the lives they lived and the examples they left, not by physical appearance. Just as the Amish do not carry personal photographs or display them in homes, they do not want others to take photographs of them.

Amish young adults are baptized into the church and usually marry, with marriage permitted only among church members. A small percentage of the young people choose not to join the church, deciding to live the rest of their lives in wider society and marry someone outside the community.

The Amish do not usually educate their children past the eighth grade, believing that the basic knowledge offered up to that point is sufficient to prepare one for the Amish lifestyle. Almost no Amish go to high school and college.

The major language spoken here is English but in addition to it most Old Order Amish speak a distinctive german dialect called pennsylvania german or, much more commonly, Pennsylvania Dutch. Pennsylvania German is related to the palatinate German of the 18th century.

Bearing children, raising them, and socializing with neighbors and relatives are the greatest functions of the Amish family. Amish typically believe that large families are a blessing from God. Farming families tend to have larger families, because sons are needed to perform farm labor. Traditionally, farming of all kinds has been at the center of Amish work life. However, in the past century, according to the Young Center, higher rate of people have involved in business enterprises, most notably in carpentry and sales of farm products.

If anyone want a break from their hectic life and want to live a life amalgamated with nature then Amish village will be the best choice but one thing to keep in mind no phone no internet only we and nature…
