Peace march with national flag at Jahangirpuri; People receiving flowers

During the Hanuman Jayanti procession, the two factions marched peacefully under the national flag at Jahangirpuri in Delhi, where clashes erupted. Members of various communities took part in the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ peace journey together. The wave march was organized with the national flag bearer and the architect of the constitution, Dr BR Ambedkar’s photo.

The procession was held under heavy security. Through the trip, he appealed for peace and unity in the area. The journey started at six o’clock in the evening. The march was attended by about 100 people from both the Hindu and Muslim communities.

The march started from Kushal Chowk and proceeded through B B Block, Market, Masjid, Temple, G Block and Bhoomi Ghat and ended at Azad Chowk. As the journey passed, people greeted us by throwing flowers from the balcony. People, including children, took part in the flag-raising procession.

A joint peace committee was formed comprising senior members of both communities. He suggested organizing a ‘wave yatra’ in Jahangirpuri and appealing to the people to maintain communal harmony. Fifty people from both communities took part in the trip, ‘North West DCP Usha Rangani told ANI news agency.
