A police officer who came to stop illegal mining was killed by a car, the accused was arrested

A police officer who came to stop illegal mining in Nooh, Haryana was killed by a mafia gang. Thauru DSP Surendra Singh Bishnoi was killed. The incident happened when he was about to retire from service this year. The police arrested the suspect who killed the DSP by ramming the vehicle.

The mafia group drove the vehicle over the officer who tried to stop him from carrying the mined stone. DSP Surendra Singh Bishnoi died on the spot. The officer reached the spot following a tip-off that illegal mining was going on. By this time the vehicle was starting to move with the excavated load. The officer waved his hand to stop, but the driver drove the vehicle at a high speed towards Surendra Singh.

After the incident, the driver stopped the vehicle and ran away. He was later arrested by the police after an encounter. He was injured in the shooting and is currently undergoing treatment. Haryana government announced Rs 1 crore ex-gratia to the family of slain Surendra Singh. Haryana Home Minister said that strict action will be taken against the culprits. Haryana’s Nuh is the land of the illegal mining mafia. Attacks on the police are also common. On an average, at least 50 such cases are reported here every year.

Surendra Singh joined the Haryana Police as a sub-inspector in 1994. Hailing from Sarangpur in Hisar, Singh currently lives in Kurukshetra with his family. He had only four more months to retire.
