Samsung India Public Policy Chief Resigns
Samsung India’s head of public affairs and ESG, Rajiv Aggarwal, has resigned after nearly four years in the role, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The 57-year-old former Indian bureaucrat is serving his final week at Samsung India. The reason for his resignation remains unclear.
Aggarwal was responsible for managing Samsung’s relationship with the Indian government. Before joining Samsung, he worked at companies including Uber and Meta. Aggarwal declined to comment, while Samsung Electronics did not respond to Reuters’ queries.
The resignation comes as Samsung faces several policy challenges in India. The company, along with other major technology firms, has dealt with government demands concerning pre-installed state-run apps and has also challenged an electronic-waste recycling policy in court. Samsung currently holds a 16.2% share of India’s smartphone market, alongside Oppo and behind market leader Vivo.
