Rahul Powers Delhi to End Losing Streak
KL Rahul delivered a match-winning performance as Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets, ending a three-match losing streak in the Indian Premier League. Rahul scored a brilliant 75 off 40 balls, helping Delhi chase down a record target of 226—their highest successful run chase in IPL history. The innings also took him to the top of the season’s run-scoring charts.
Rahul, who has been Delhi’s most consistent batter this season with three fifties and a century, said personal milestones feel more meaningful when they contribute to team victories. He reflected on his earlier unbeaten 152 in a losing cause against Punjab Kings, noting that big scores without wins are less satisfying despite the individual achievement.
Delhi’s win was further strengthened by the return of Mitchell Starc, who picked up three wickets in his first game of the season after recovering from injuries. Rahul also emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in T20 cricket, admitting the team had previously failed to capitalize on strong positions. Delhi, currently sixth in the standings, will next face Chennai Super Kings.
