IndiGo Assures DGCA of Stable Operations From Feb 10 After December Disruptions
IndiGo has informed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) that its flight operations will remain stable from February 10, 2026, stating it has sufficient pilots and crew strength to manage schedules, the aviation regulator said on Tuesday. The assurance was given during a meeting held with DGCA on January 19, 2026, where the airline indicated there would be no flight cancellations after February 10 based on its currently approved network and available manpower.
The country’s largest airline by market capitalisation had faced significant operational disruptions in December 2025, after poor pilot roster planning resulted in staff shortages. The disruptions left hundreds of passengers stranded at multiple airports across India, drawing regulatory scrutiny and public attention.
Following the incident, IndiGo was fined $2.45 million, with DGCA also issuing official warnings to senior executives and directing the airline to remove the head of operations control from duties. DGCA stated that the airline’s stability plan also includes the removal of two Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) exemptions that were approved on December 6, 2025 as part of the regulator’s stabilisation measures.
