Punjab To Send School Principals To Singapore For Training

The Punjab Cabinet approved the implementation of a plan for sending teachers abroad for training on Friday.

According to a formal announcement, the Department of School Education will implement this programme in FY 2022–2023 by sending a batch of 36 principals to the Principals Academy in Singapore and 30 principals to the National Institute of Education, an independent institute of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

“The training will expose them to state-of-the-art teaching practices, leadership skills, creation of teaching-learning materials and audio-visual technology,” it said.

“It will be helpful to obtain objectives of education in the post-pandemic world, essentials of strategic management, shaping school culture, building teachers’ professional capital, curriculum leadership, mentoring, and lesson observation skills, innovation in teaching and learning and effective communication,” the statement added.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Cabinet convened here. Additionally, it approved the establishment of a governmental programme to transform public schools into “Schools of Eminence.”

The Shahpur Kandi Dam Project’s remaining construction costs were also given the executing agency’s request for 74.75 crore by the Punjab Cabinet.

It also approved the second phase of sending the case of exceptional remission to prisoners in Punjab prisons in honour of the country’s 75th Independence Day.
