Picture of Amit Shah with arrested IAS officer circulated; Director arrested

Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested filmmaker Avinash Das from Mumbai for sharing a picture of Union Home Minister Amit Shah with arrested IAS officer Pooja Singhal. He also shared an offensive picture of a woman wearing a tricolor dress. Officials said he tweeted a photo of Amit Shah with Jharkhand cadre IAS officer Pooja Singhal, who was arrested earlier in a money laundering case, with the caption ‘taken just before his arrest’.

He will be produced in the Ahmedabad Metro Court tomorrow. After the Sessions Court denied anticipatory bail, Das dismissed the petition filed by the Gujarat High Court. The crime branch of the Ahmedabad police registered a case against Avinash Das on May 14. Avinash Das has been booked under Section 469 (forgery) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 67 (spreading obscenity) of the Information Technology (IT) Act and Prevention of National Offenses.

Enforcement Directorate has arrested IAS officer Pooja Singhal in a money laundering case. The video footage of the money seized by the officials from their house went viral.
