In a positive change of tide for Ernakulam, six patients recently conceded for Covid-19 were discharged on Thursday, against two more testing positive. Those tested positive in the area are a 32-year-old Maharashtra local who landed in Kochi on June 8 and a 49-year-old person belonging to Kadavanthra, who landed from Mumbai.
A close relative of the last had tested positive on Wednesday, and according to the health office, both these people had travelled together on train on their way back. Both the people who tested positive have been moved to Government Medical College Hospital, Kalamassery.
“Usually early recuperation is seen in asymptomatic cases, however it is hard to recognize the infection in any case. We do get both symptomatic and asymptomatic cases. It’s too soon to analyze the recuperation rates,” said an authority at MCH Kalamassery.
