ICJ to announce its judgement on Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case Today

The International Court of Justice, the most powerful judicial platform in the world which is the judicial organ of the United Nations, is set to pronounce its much-awaited judgement on the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, the former Indian naval officer who was awarded the severe punishment of death sentence by a Pakistan ministry court.

As per a media report, the order will be announced by ICJ president Judge Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf. Apart from the president, there are at least fifteen other members in the panel. Other judges can deliver either a supporting judgement or a descending judgment.

As per an expert’s opinion, the whole procedure will take not more than thirty minutes to an hour.
India’s main demand is that the military court’s judgement should be declared illegal and a retrial should be ordered in the case.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s demand is that the plea filed by India in the top court of the world in the case of the former Indian Navel Officer should be rejected.

Islamabad sees the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav as a case of espionage. That country considers the matter as an internal issue. So, they does not want to see the interference of the external elements in the matter.

What India tries to prove is that it is not an internal matter.

It is hoped that Mr Jadhav will get justice that he deserves.
