2 Washed Away After Heavy Rains In Maharashtra’s Palghar

In the Palghar district of Maharashtra, severe rains led to the collapse of a piece of a person’s home, injuring one person and taking two lives, according to officials on Thursday. Due to the heavy rainfall, at least 32 homes in various talukas of Palghar were partially destroyed, according to a district administration official.

In the 24 hours that ended at 10 am on Thursday, the district received an average of 89.27 mm of rain, with Wada taluka receiving the most 135 mm. According to district disaster cell commander Vivekanand Kadam, a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was placed on standby to offer help if needed.

On Thursday, Ramesh Janya Goshe, 51, of Charoti in the Dahanu taluka, perished in the floodwaters. A local administration officer reported that the body was later found.

According to a representative of the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation’s fire services, a man’s decayed body was discovered in a clogged drain on Wednesday in the Madhuban neighbourhood of Vasai township.

According to a police officer, they believe the deceased, Rahul Vishwakarma, who worked at a nearby factory, may have fallen into the sewer during the severe rains and been swept away. According to a district administration representative, Krishna Bhauji Bhoye was hurt on Thursday when a piece of a house collapsed in Vasuri, Vikramgad taluka (60).

The official stated that the man had been admitted to the hospital and was doing well. All tehsildars and sub-divisional officers have been directed by district collector Dr. Manik Gursal to remain vigilant and take the appropriate actions to aid in the current situation.
