Operatives of Dawood’s extortion racket detained

The alleged operatives of the Dawood’s extortion racket, including his brother, Iqbal Kaskar, have been detained, bringing, once again, the spotlight into the issue of the growing strength of the infamous Don’s criminal gang in the Mumbai city.

Apart from Kaskar, some other people including Mumtaz Sheikh, Israr Ali Jamil Sayyed, Iqbal Parkar and Mohammed Yasin Khwaja Hussain have also been arrested by the police in connection with the extortion case filed by a prominent real estate giant.

It is said, in the case file related to the case, that the operatives have extorted nearly thirty lakh rupees and four flats worth around five crore rupees from the builder in Dawood’s name in the period of last four years.

There have been reports that some of the accused are close relatives of Dawood’s sister and some culprits have been taken into custody from the Haseena Parker’s home.

An investigation is on. At this moment, it is not clear whether the fugitive Don has any role in the extortion racket business.

Earlier, there were reports that the Dawood’s brother, who had been deported from the UAE in connection with a real estate case, was operating the real estate business of the Dawood’s company.
