Gangster Kumar Pillai arrested, extradited to India

 Singapore authorities on last day had arrested the fugitive gangster, Kumar Pillai, after receiving an extradition request from India. He was said to be absconding from Indian authorities since 1990s. By nabbing the criminal, the authorities have successfully ended the seventeen year long search. As per report, the criminal had been bought to the country on last day after completing the extradition formalities of Singapore. Earlier, the Interpol authorities had issued a red corner notice against the wanted gangster. Pillai is facing several crime charges including murder, attempt to murder, extortion and many more. Vikhroli and Bhandup were the strong holds of the gangster who left the country on 1990s. He was mainly involved in forceful extortion from the business personals and real-estate personals. It is said that the criminal had had an illicit connection with the infamous terror organisation of Sri Lanka, LTTE. The fingerprints collected by the Indian police authorities have helped the Singapore officials to nab the criminal. Pillai will be presented before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act Court on Today. Considering the security reasons, the criminal may be kept in high security custody by the police authorities. A special team of Mumbai Crime Branch, constituting of five crime branch officials, has bought the criminal into the country on last day. They have obtained special permission from the court to handcuff the criminal immediately after the landing citing security reasons.
