Easy to cook Paalada Payasam

As we mark the Vishu celebration, along with the Vishukani and Kainettam. Let us treat our taste buds eternally with some traditional sweets.

Here is an easy to cook payasam recipe. “Paalada Payasam”, the forever favourite Paayasam for many!

Ingredients

Readymade Ada – 1/2 cup
Water 1 1/2 cups
Milk 2 1/2 500 ml
Sugar 1/2 cup + 1/4 cup

Soak the Ada in boiling water for 20 minutes (until it becomes soft).
In a bowl boil the milk along with 1/2 cup of water and keep it aside.
In a nonstick pot add 1/4 mug of sugar and set the flame on high. The sugar will then start to caramelize, once it turns a golden colour, switch off the spark and add 1/2 a the boiled milk.

Slowly add the rest milk and stir them gently. Gradually add the soaked Ada and let them boil. Cook them for 15 minutes in sim flame. Add the sugar and keep stirring mildly. Once it starts to thick, add the remaining water or milk. Keep the flame on simmer until and stir them gently until you get the right consistency of payasam.
