Yash on KGF 2 vs Beast debate: It’s not an election, Vijay is my senior and I respect him
On Sunday, the much-anticipated KGF: Chapter 2 trailer was unveiled at a large media event in Bengaluru. During the event’s press conference, the filmmakers were asked about their strategy for countering the box office threat posed by Tamil superstar Vijay’s Beast.
With a mature and grounded response, KGF star Yash put the debate over the box office clash to rest. He ruled out the possibility of KGF 2 and Beast posing a threat to one another.
“It’s KGF and Beast,” says the narrator. It’s not a battle between KGF and Beast. This isn’t a presidential election. Everyone has only one vote in an election, so we had to fight for those votes. If one of them wins, the other is expected to lose. This is how movies are made. People can also watch both my and his films. “We should respect Vijay sir because he is a huge star,” Yash added.
Yash also mentioned that the country had enough room for both films to thrive. “KGF is a pan-India film, and the release date was announced about eight months ago.” Then we didn’t know when the next film would be released. It’s also a festival for him (Vijay). It’s not accurate to think of it as KGF vs Beast. For many years, he has kept us entertained. My downfall will begin the moment I begin to believe that I am bigger than my seniors. His films will be celebrated by all of his fans. I’m also confident that all Vijay sir fans will enjoy our film. I’m also going to see that movie (Beast). “Let us all rejoice together,” he added.
Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, and Raveena Tandon also star in KGF 2, which will be released on April 14th. And Vijay’s Beast, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and written by Vijay, will be released in theatres on April 13.
