Vinci to Acquire Indian Toll Road Portfolio in $1.6 Billion Deal
French infrastructure giant Vinci has agreed to acquire a portfolio of toll road assets in India from Macquarie Asia Infrastructure Fund 2 in a deal valued at around $1.6 billion. The transaction marks a significant investment in India’s growing transport infrastructure sector and highlights continued global investor interest in the country’s road network.
The portfolio includes nine toll road concessions covering nearly 700 kilometres of highways across key routes in India. Among them is a strategic corridor connecting Kolkata and Chennai, an important stretch that supports both passenger and freight movement across regions.
Vinci said the acquisition offers strong potential for long-term value creation, with revenue generation linked to traffic volumes on these highways. The deal underscores confidence in India’s infrastructure growth story, driven by rising mobility demand and continued expansion of road networks.
