Uttarakhand voters to select future today

In the state which witnessed several political crises in the recent times, Uttarakhand, the polling has begun, triggering a feeling among the voters that it is the perfect time to avenge the political uncertainty inflicted on them due to the power crisis between the Congress Party-led state government and BJP-led central government. It is learned that the elections in nearly sixty-nine constituencies out of the total seventy constituencies will be conducted today. It is said that the election in the Karnaprayag constituency will be held on March 9. Even though the state is only expecting to witness a two front election between the Congress Party and BJP, the BSP candidates are also showing tough competency in some constituencies situated in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts. Meanwhile, the second phase of UP election in those districts in which BSP enjoys a dominant position will also happen today itself. The second phase of the UP election happens in nearly sixty-seven constituencies spread across nearly eleven districts of Western Uttar Pradesh. As per the report, tight security has been deployed in all polling stations in which the voters visit to cast their vote today. The report added that all possible measures have been taken to ensure the prime concept of election: the ‘Free and Fair election’. The unfortunate fact is that in the first phase of the election the polling was very low. It is expected that this trend will change in coming days.
