Upper house witnesses dramatic incident, TN MP alleges ‘threat to life’
The upper house of the parliament on today has witnessed a sentimental, dramatic incident when one of its members alleged that her life is under threat. The prominent AIADMK member and parliamentarian from Tamil Nadu, Sasikala Pushpa, claims that she was pressured to quit her constitutional position. She added that there is a threat to her life. Before she was able to elucidate the matter in details, she reportedly broke down in tears, says the report. Interestingly, immediately after the dramatic incident, the TN MP was sacked from the AIADMK party. Earlier, around few days before, she had reportedly slapped a DMK leader, Tiruchi Siva, alleging he was making bad remarks about her party. Now, the party authorities announce that she had tainted the image of the party by doing an inhuman thing. Even though she apologised to the victim, the party declined to accept her explanations. It seems that the ruling AIADMK party is not willing to entertain any kind of aggressive action from their workers. Earlier, in January, she was removed from the prestigious AIADMK women’s wing secretary position .She had been the mayor of Thoothukudi, before being inducted into the Rajya Sabha. Some sources confirmed that she was not in a good relation with the party. For the last few years, she was trying to strengthen her supporters inside the party. However, the Sabha has assured her all the possible support and advised her to give a written complaint to the Vice-President.
