UP Congress Launches Statewide Bharat Jodo Yatra

Brijlal Khabri, the president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, announced the beginning of the regional Bharat Jodo Yatra on Monday at Ravindralaya Charbagh and praised previous party chief Rahul Gandhi for his leadership. Nakul Dubey, the chairman of the party, accompanied Khabri.

The yatra was started to assist Mr. Gandhi’s India-wide foot march. According to a statement from the Congress, Mr. Khabri adorned a statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar to kick off the yatra. The state Congress leader addressed the crowd and stated that the yatra is a sign of change under Mr. Gandhi’s leadership.

The statement stated that the Awadh zone’s yatra travelled through Imambara, Bansmandi Chauraha, Naka Chauraha, Raniganj, Rakabganj, Yahiyaganj, Nakhas Chauraha, and Rakabganj before arriving at Shaheed Smarak.

It stated that the yatra would resume on Tuesday from Shravasti. The Bharat Jodo Yatra is being organised in each of the six organisational zones that the Congress has created in Uttar Pradesh. On September 7, Mr. Gandhi’s yatra began in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, and will end in Kashmir, a 3,570 mile journey.
