Turkey calls Nato Talks on IS and PKK – Unique times
Turkey is looking ahead to conduct a special meeting of Nato ambassadors in order to discuss the military operations against the Islamic State group and the PKK Kurdish separatists. It is reported that the meeting will be taking place in Brussels on Tuesday. Turkey had taken few steps against them by launching air attacks against IS militants in Syria and air raids against the PKK camps in northern Iraq. In one of the attack nearly 32 people were being killed in a suicide bombing which took place near Syria on 20th July. Protesting this PKK had killed Turkish police for what they saw as Turkey’s collaboration with IS. One of the PKK spokesperson had reported to the AFP news agency that the Turkish jets had bombed two places north of Dohuk and north of Irbil. The US has called on both Turkey and the PKK to avoid violence, but also stated that Turkey has got its right to defend against the attacks by the Kurdish rebels.
