The war situation in Europe is a challenge to the international balance: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the current war situation in Europe raises questions about the balance at the international level. Therefore, cooperation between countries at the regional level needs to be ensured. He therefore said that BIMSTEC would strengthen cooperation between the countries.
He said that Nalanda University has decided to expand its BIMSTEC Scholarship Program. He added that BIMSTEC countries would sign agreements on crime control by mutual consent. The Bay of Bengal must be transformed into a bridge of connectivity, security and progress between nations. Therefore, the Prime Minister said that the intervention of the countries in the achievements of BIMSTEC in 1997 is needed again.
The Prime Minister has announced that he will provide US $ 1 million to the BIMSTEC Secretariat. This is to expand BIMSTEC’s operating budget. The Prime Minister also asked the BIMSTEC Secretary General to intervene to develop the budget.
