The Munnar Hills Is Once Again Bloomed With Neelakurinji Flowers

Neelakurinji once again blooms after 12 years. Kerala has once again witnessed the beauty on the hills of Munnar’s Eravikulam National Park. The purple spread is a sight to watch. August is considered the best time to visit Munnar to see the beauty of Neelakurinji. The kurinji flowers will colour the hills and the surrounding areas with vibrant shades of violet until October.

neelakurinji It was in the year 2006 the hills was spread over 3000 hectares of kurinji, the flowers were bloomed in July. Each shrub was about 30 to 60 centimetres high. It usually takes 12 years for the seeds to grow and the sprouted blossoms die after flowering.
