The Jharkhand government has extended the time limit for the Ram Navami procession until 10 p.m

In response to demands from various Ram Navami Puja committees and political parties, the Jharkhand government extended the time limit for religious procession until 10 p.m. on Friday. The state government had previously allowed processions until 6 p.m. in an order issued on March 30.

“…the religious procession shall conclude not later than 10 p.m.,” according to the new order signed by Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh.

The Ram Navami festival will be held on April 10th.

The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), right-wing outfits, and some ruling party leaders had demanded a reduction in the procession’s time limit and number of participants.

On Thursday, state Health Minister Banna Gupta met with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and requested that the time limit for the Ram Navami festival be extended and that the number of devotees in procession be reduced.
