TCS Unit to Invest $7.4 Billion in AI Data Centre Campus
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and its partners will invest up to ₹700 billion ($7.41 billion) to develop a 1-gigawatt AI data centre campus in Telangana, marking a major investment in India’s artificial intelligence infrastructure. The project will be developed in phases on a 264-acre site secured by TCS subsidiary HyperVault in Hyderabad.
The facility is designed to serve AI companies and hyperscalers, with infrastructure capable of supporting high-density GPUs for AI training and inference. HyperVault expects the completed campus to rank among India’s largest AI infrastructure facilities, strengthening Hyderabad’s position as a hub for technology and AI development.
TCS CEO K. Krithivasan said Hyderabad provides the scale, talent and ecosystem required to support global customers. The announcement comes shortly after TCS agreed to acquire Porsche’s IT and consulting unit MHP for $373 million, as the company expands beyond traditional IT services.
