Sushmita Sen’s Response to Lalit Modi’s Post: Not Married But In Happy Place
The actress tweeted a joyful photo of herself and her daughters Renee and Alisah a day after Lalit Modi, the first chairman of Indian Premier League, made their connection social media official. She wrote: “I am in a happy place! Not married, no rings… Unconditionally surrounded by love. Enough clarification given… Now back to life and work! Thank you for sharing in my happiness always…and for those who don’t. She signed off the post with these words:” It’s NOYB anyway. I love you guys.”
Lalit Modi referred to Sushmita Sen as his “better half” in a tweet he posted on Thursday. He later clarified that they aren’t wed and are “simply dating,” not engaged. He added a note to another tweet that said, “Not married – just dating each other.” “Just to be clear. Just dating each other, not wed. That will occur as well one day, he added in a another tweet.
The former Miss Universe discussed her decision to forgo marriage and the factors that contributed to it in an interview with Twinkle Khanna last month for Tweak India’s The Icons. “Luckily I met some very interesting men in my life, the only reason I never got married is because they were a let down. It had nothing to do with my kids. My kids were never in the equation. If at all, they have been very gracious. Both my kids have accepted people in my life with open arms, never made a face. They have given everybody equal measure of love and respect. It’s the most beautiful thing to watch,” said Sushmita Sen.
In 1994, Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe. Dastak, a 1996 Bollywood film, marked her screen debut. Movies like Biwi No 1, Do Knot Disturb, Main Hoon Na, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, and No Problem are among her filmography. She returned to acting with the International Emmy-nominated series Aarya, for which she also starred in the second season.
Daughters Renee and Alisah are the only children Sushmita Sen has; Renee was adopted in 2000, while Alisah was added to the family in 2010. With a short film, Renee made her acting debut.
