Sujoy Ghosh’s Netflix film will be Kareena Kapoor Khan’s OTT debut

Kareena Kapoor Khan is getting ready to make her digital debut. Netflix announced on Wednesday that Kareena Kapoor and Sujoy Ghosh will star in an untitled murder mystery based on Keigo Higashino’s Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X. Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma will also play pivotal roles in the film.

“Devotion is probably the best love story I’ve ever read, and to get a chance to adapt it into a film is such an honour,” director Sujoy Ghosh said in a statement about the film. In addition, I will have the opportunity to work with Kareena, Jaideep, and Vijay!!! What more could a person ask for!!” Sujoy is also one of the film’s producers.

“I can’t wait to begin work on this exciting project,” Kareena Kapoor Khan said, revealing that her first digital project “has all the right ingredients.” It has all of the right ingredients: a compelling storey, a visionary director, and a stellar cast and crew. I am very excited to collaborate with Sujoy, Jaideep, and Vijay. It’s the start of an exciting adventure, and I can’t wait for audiences all over the world to see this international bestseller come to life.” Netflix teased the film with a fun video of Kareena Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma, and Sujoy Ghosh reading the script. 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films, Boundscript, and Kross Pictures are collaborating on the film.
