Soldier Dies Days After Attack By Mob Led By DMK Councillor In Tamil Nadu
In the Krishnagiri area of Tamil Nadu, a 29-year-old soldier was slain after allegedly being attacked by a DMK council member. Prabhu was a soldier who was stationed in Jammu and Kashmir.
The DMK councillor Chinnasamy and the soldier allegedly got into a fight over using a public tank to wash clothes, according to the police. According to the authorities, the soldier’s brother, Prabhakaran, was also hurt in the incident.
Later, the debate turned into a full-fledged assault, and on February 8, other individuals joined the DMK councillor in beating the two brothers.
After being admitted to a hospital, Prabhu passed away last night. On February 9 there were six persons detained. Today, three additional people—including the DMK councilman—were detained.
According to the authorities, the mob attacked the soldier with logs. The brothers and Chinnasamy are also related, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoharan, who spoke to NDTV.
The government’s DMK has not yet responded. Annamalai, the BJP’s state chief, remarked “An army member cannot feel comfortable in his own community. People are watching the Chief Minister, who is in charge of the Home portfolio, indifferently.”
