Siachen Hero Captain Bana Singh Joins Congress’s Yatra In Jammu

Captain Bana Singh, a retired recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, joined Rahul Gandhi’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” on Friday in the Kathua area.
As the ‘Yatra’ resumed its Jammu and Kashmir leg on Friday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was spotted gripping Captain Bana Singh’s hand.
In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi expressed his gratitude for Captain Bana Singh’s participation in the yatra.

“Whenever we speak of protecting India and its ideals, the names of brave sons of the country like Bana Singh are taken,” he wrote.

“Captain Bana Singh, a Param Vir Chakra winner who hoisted the tricolour on the icy heights of Siachen, is an inspiration to me and every patriot,” Rahul Gandhi added in his tweet.

For his assistance in “Operation Rajiv,” Captain Bana Singh (Retired) received the Param Vir Chakra, the highest gallantry medal. He is credited with taking control of Pakistan’s Qaid Post in Siachen Glacier and raising the flag. After that, the post was renamed “Bana Post.”Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sen, took part in the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” on Friday in Kathua.

“Bharat Jodo Yatra coming to Kashmir is a huge thing, in fact, the yatra should have started from here only to unite the nation. This is the only reason I came from Shiv Sena’s side because we want the nation to unite,” Mr Raut said.
