Russia to evacuate Indians safely; Russian aircraft will also be used for the mission
The Russian Embassy in India has announced that the Russian military is ready to take all necessary steps to safely evacuate Indian citizens from Ukraine. The embassy said in a tweet that it would repatriate them from Russia with its own military and transport planes or Indian planes, as proposed by India. Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Russia has accused Ukraine of using Indians as human shields.

Meanwhile, the second round of talks between Ukraine and Russia will take place today. The talks will be held on the Poland – Belarus border. Russia has said a ceasefire will also be discussed. Meanwhile, 141 countries voted in favor of a UN resolution yesterday calling on Russia to withdraw from military action in Ukraine.
Five countries opposed the resolution. Thirty-five countries, including India, abstained. Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Syria and Eritrea opposed the resolution. Apart from India, Iran, China and Pakistan abstained. Russia, meanwhile, has confirmed that 498 of its soldiers were killed in the war. This is Russia’s first casualty since the military coup. 1597 soldiers wounded. Russia says it has killed 2,870 Ukrainian troops.
