Ronaldo scores 58th career hat-trick; Shining victory for Portugal

Portugal beat Luxembourg in a World Cup qualifier where Cristiano Ronaldo hits hat-trick. Portugal beat Luxembourg by five goals to one. Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in the 8th, 13th (both penalties) and 87 minutes. Portugal’s other goals came from Bruno Fernandez (17) and Joao Palinja (69).

Ronaldo’s 58th hat-trick for national team and club was born against Luxembourg. With a hat-trick against Luxembourg, Ronaldo’s goal tally for the national team rose to 115. Last month, Ronaldo broke the record of 109 goals set by Iran’s Ali Dei.

With this victory, Portugal finished second in Group A of the European World Cup qualifying round. Serbia is number one. Portugal will face the Republic of Ireland in the next match of the qualifying round. Portugal will also face top-ranked Serbia in the final.
