Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra In Delhi Amid BJP vs Congress Over Covid

Rahul Gandhi, the party’s MP, led the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra when it arrived in Delhi early this morning amid requests from the Health Minister to adhere to Covid guidelines.
Rahul Gandhi, senior party officials, and the yatris were greeted at the Badarpur Border as they arrived in the capital from Faridabad by Delhi Congress Chief Anil Chaudhary and party members.
Party leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja, and Randeep Surjewala were with Mr. Gandhi.

He emphasised that the purpose of his yatra is to open a “mohabbat ki dukaan” (shop of love) amidst a “nafrat ka bazaar” while speaking to party members and officials (market of hatred).

“Common man of the country is now talking about love. In every state, lakhs have joined the yatra. I have told people of RSS and BJP that we are here to open shop of love in your ‘bazar’ of hatred,” Mr Gandhi said.

“They (BJP, RSS) spread hatred, we (Congress) spread love,” he said.

In a previous letter, Rahul Gandhi was urged to make sure that Covid “protocols” were adhered to during the Bharat Jodo Yatra by Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Mr. Gandhi responded by referencing the recent Gujarat election campaign and BJP marches of PM Narendra Modi. “The BJP is organising yatras in a number of states. However, the Health Minister is merely writing to us “said he. The yatra, which reached its 100-day mark on December 16, will take a nine-day vacation for the holiday season before starting out again on January 3 from Delhi.
