Rahul Gandhi Consoles Sharad Yadav’s Daughter: “Learnt A Lot From Him”
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, paid homage to former Union Minister Sharad Yadav on Friday at his residence and remarked that the seasoned politician had taught him a lot about politics.
Mr. Yadav, 75, passed away on Thursday at a Gurugram private hospital. His wife, son, and daughters all survive him. The seasoned socialist politician had kidney problems for a long period and frequently underwent dialysis.
At the venerable politician’s home in this area, Mr. Gandhi paid his respects to Mr. Yadav and was seen comforting the grieving family members.
Speaking with reporters, Mr. Gandhi described his encounter with Mr. Yadav as the beginning of a relationship. They had met while travelling in a car. He claimed that although though Mr. Yadav was an opposition leader and had a political disagreement with his grandmother Indira Gandhi, the two of them still had a mutual regard and love for one another.
Mr Gandhi said Mr Yadav never lost others’ respect, which was a big thing in politics. “Sharad Yadav ji was a person of humble nature along with being a leader of socialism. I have learnt a lot from him. I express my deepest condolences to his bereaved family members. His contribution to the country will always be remembered,” he had said in a tweet in Hindi early Friday.
