PM Modi’s Mother Heeraben Now Better, “May Be Discharged In A Day Or Two”
Heeraben Modi, 99, the mother of Gujarati Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has improved two days after being hospitalised to a hospital in Ahmedabad and is “expected to be discharged in a day or two,” according to the Gujarat government.
“Heeraba’s health is good. Her health is improving rapidly. She is likely to be discharged in a day or two. Oral diet started yesterday night,” read a communication from the Chief Minister’s Office.
She got a visit from PM Modi yesterday. He arrived from Delhi at 4 p.m., and after spending almost an hour with her, he departed the hospital just before 5.30.
Her condition is stable, according to the hospital, UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, which has not provided any further details.
Darshanaben Vaghela and Kaushik Jain, two members of the BJP in Gujarat, had arrived at the hospital. When the Prime Minister was recently in Gujarat for the assembly elections, he paid his mother a visit. Pictures of the Prime Minister conversing and drinking tea with Heeraben Modi, who turned 100 in June, soon started to circulate on social media.
PM Modi has frequently discussed his relationship with his mother and has also written about it on his website.
