PM Modi Inaugurates Kashi Tamil Sangamam In Varanasi
The Kashi Tamil Sangamam, a month-long event to celebrate, reaffirm, and rediscover the centuries-old ties between Tamil Nadu and Varanasi, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. More than 2,500 delegates from Tamil Nadu are in Varanasi for a seminar trip and to meet locals with similar interests, trades, and professions.
It aims to give individuals from all walks of life, including academics, businesspeople, and artisans, from the two historic centres of learning the chance to exchange knowledge, best practices, and cultural insights.
In Varanasi, there will also be a month-long exhibition featuring handicrafts, books, documentaries, cuisine, art forms, history, and tourist destinations from the two regions.
The initiative is in line with the National Education Policy’s focus on fusing the richness of Indian knowledge systems with contemporary knowledge systems.
The program’s two implementing organisations are the Banaras Hindu University and IIT Madras.
