PM Modi Hails 2025 as ‘Year of Reforms,’ Says Momentum Will Drive Viksit Bharat 2047 Goal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that 2025 marked a historic phase of transformative reforms across sectors, strengthening India’s journey toward the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. In a post on X and a detailed note on LinkedIn, the Prime Minister said India has “boarded the Reform Express,” driven by the nation’s youthful demography and entrepreneurial spirit. He said the year underscored reforms as a continuous national mission, focused on modernising institutions, simplifying governance and laying the foundations for long-term, inclusive growth.
Modi highlighted key measures including a new two-slab GST structure, tax relief for the middle class, enhanced ease of doing business, expanded FDI in insurance, consolidation of labour laws, major maritime legislation and introduction of the Securities Market Code Bill. He also pointed to reforms in nuclear energy, higher education regulation, rural employment guarantees, and new trade agreements with partners including New Zealand, Oman, Britain and the European Free Trade Association. These steps, he said, are designed to boost investment, job creation, innovation and social security while reducing compliance burdens and strengthening institutional trust.
Emphasising that the reforms are rooted in empathy and consultation, Modi said they seek to empower citizens, support small businesses and workers, and enable entrepreneurs to innovate with confidence. He described 2025 as a year that accelerated next-generation reforms shaping a technology-driven, future-ready economy, and urged global investors and institutions to partner with India’s growth story as the country advances toward building a prosperous and self-reliant Viksit Bharat.
