PM Flags Covid’s “Side-Effects” On Employment At Mega Job Fair Launch

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that efforts are being made by the government to lessen the impact of the economic hardships that many nations are currently experiencing due of the COVID-19 pandemic. After presenting 75,000 appointment letters to candidates for government jobs, Modi addressed the “Rozgar Mela” and stated that the Centre is also working on other fronts to maximise the number of job chances for young people.

“The current state of the world is not good, that much is true. Numerous sizable economies are in trouble. In other nations, issues like high unemployment and inflation are at their worst, “added PM Modi. He said that the pandemic’s aftereffects will not vanish after a hundred days.

“However, despite this global crisis, the effects of which are felt worldwide, India is adopting new steps and assuming certain risks to prevent our nation from being impacted by these issues.

“We are attempting to mitigate this effect on our nation. Although it’s a difficult task, we have so far been safeguarded thanks to your prayers, the prime minister remarked.

75,000 job applicants received appointment letters earlier this week through email from the prime minister.

The 38 ministries or departments of the Indian government will welcome the new hires, who were chosen from around the nation. They will work in Group A and B (gazetted), Group B (non-gazetted), and Group C at various levels of the government.

According to a statement released by the government, appointments are being made for positions in the central armed forces, as well as sub-inspectors, constables, LDCs, stenographers, PAs, income tax inspectors, and MTS.

The ministries and departments either carry out these hirings on their own or through hiring organisations like the UPSC, the SSC, and the Railway Recruitment Board. According to the government, the selection procedures have been streamlined and made tech-enabled to facilitate quick hiring.
