Partner Killed Nikki Yadav Amid Wedding Events, Deleted All Her Phone Data

Sahil Gehlot killed his four-year girlfriend sometime between getting engaged and getting married, covered her body, and carried on as usual, the Delhi police said Thursday, giving additional shocking details in the eerie sequel to the Aaftab Poonawalla and Shraddha Walkar case from the previous year.

According to the police, Sahil Gehlot, 24, enjoyed himself during his engagement celebration on February 9 and danced for hours with pals. He is accused of strangling Nikki Yadav when she confronted him about his alleged treachery the day after, just before his wedding.

Sahil Gehlot is depicted carrying out wedding rites while appearing very different from the murderer he was just moments before. In the surveillance footage from her leased home on February 9, Nikki Yadav, 23, was last seen.

She was unaware that Sahil Gehlot had a second woman he was engaged to at the time. They have been living together since 2018, when they met while completing pharmaceutical college entrance examinations.

Sahil allegedly borrowed his cousin’s car after his engagement and drove to Nikki’s house at around one in the morning. Sahil is captured on camera entering the flat. They are observed leaving at around five in the morning. To board a train to Goa, they travelled in the same car to the South Delhi Nizamuddin Railway station.

According to the authorities, Nikki Yadav intended to travel to Goa with Sahil, but he claimed he couldn’t get a ticket. They allegedly made the decision to book a bus to any hill town in Himachal Pradesh after that.

Police believe Sahil planned to leave Nikki and was deceiving her by suggesting they would go on vacation together.

The police said that because they were unable to obtain bus tickets, they left. They battled for approximately four hours while leaving the automobile parked at Kashmere Gate in North Delhi.

Sahil’s family continued calling on the day of his wedding. According to the authorities, Sahil strangled his girlfriend with his charging wire around nine in the morning on February 10 when they were having a screaming dispute.

He allegedly put Nikki’s body in the front seat and drove about 40 kilometres to his family’s dhaba, or wayside eatery. According to the police, he abandoned the car at the dhaba with the body in the boot. He left the dhaba after closing time to attend his wedding at home.

Sahil allegedly proceeded to the dhaba at 3.30 am in another car to deal with the body after his family and relatives had gone to bed.
According to the authorities, Sahil intended to dispose of the body in a river or a drain. He is accused of moving the body from the automobile to the dhaba’s refrigerator.

Sahil allegedly retained Nikki’s mobile phone, which was retrieved by the police. Sahil deleted all of the data from Nikki and his phones. A police officer remarked, “He realised it was huge evidence, so he deleted all chats of their disputes.”

The police are also reviewing security footage from each of the locations that Sahil allegedly “confessed” to having committed the murder.
