Pallonji Mistry “Made Monumental Contributions,” says PM Modi
Shapoorji Pallonji Group Chairman Pallonji Mistry passed away this morning at his Mumbai home.
With an 8.4% stake in the company, 93-year-old Pallonji Mistry was the largest individual stakeholder in the Tata Group.
Both Union Minister Smriti Irani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their condolences on Mr. Mistry’s passing on Twitter.
“Saddened by Shri Pallonji Mistry’s demise. His contributions to business and industry were enormous. I send my sympathies to his family, friends, and all of his well-wishers. May he find peace with his soul “said the prime minister.
“Pallonji Mistry, the end of an era. One of life’s greatest joys was to have witnessed his genius , his gentleness at work. My condolences to the family and his loved ones,” tweeted Smriti Irani.
“Deeply saddened on the unfortunate demise of Shri Pallonji Mistry. His invaluable contribution to infrastructure development, commerce & industry will never be forgotten. My condolences to his family & friends,” said Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari.
Mr. Mistry, who was born in 1929, received the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honour in the nation, for his achievements as an industrialist.
